C’è un bambino di nome Morris fra la neve, che si inerpica su per la montagna. Ed una cagnolina di nome Houdini esperta in escapologia.

C’è un piccolo dolore che non viene esplicitato ma che la nonna del bambino cerca di curare chiamandolo “Superman” nel buio di una cameretta, con un sorriso che non è di contentezza.

Perché Morris lo ha capito che “con un nome esisti più che senza, e certi nomi ti fanno venire le spalle larghe”.

Morris è un bambino che è in grado di vedere fra le piccole crepe del mondo adulto in cui si insinua il freddo vento dell’ipocrisia e saprà smascherarla.

Il pluripremiato Bart Moeyaert gia autore de “Il club della via Lattea” e Bianca” (sempre Sinnos) torna con una storia in cui è protagonista l’infanzia, se ne conferma grande conoscitore e ci offre più che un racconto un piccolo cortometraggio.

Per alcune atmosfere mi ha ricordato quel bellissimo film che è “The night of the hunter” di Charles Laughton.

Sebastiaan van Doninck da parte sua riesce a tradurre con le sue bellissime illustrazioni insieme la quiete del paesaggio innevato e la contenuta tensione della narrazione.

“Morris” punta molto sulla descrizione dell’interiorità e dei pensieri del protagonista, ma invece che incedere nell’ intimismo si estroflette in una storia che si fa incontro, confronto ed amicizia.

A tutti coloro che sono e sono stati piccoli Superman!
